BK’S KORNER
It was really good to be back with you all Sunday morning. You know, the funny thing is that I didn’t even miss a Sunday. Some of you may not have even known that I was gone! However, I knew. When I am away from my Church family there is something missing in my life. The family of God is so central to who I am and what I do. When I’m away I miss you!
It is a reminder to me how important a church family is. The truth is that Christianity is not meant to be lived in isolation. It is meant to be lived in community. The community called the church or the body of Christ. Hebrews 10:25 says this, “… not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the Day approaching.”
Do you see that? It says we need each other. It says we need to be a part of gathering together with other believers. We need to encourage each other. We need to lean on each other and inspire each other. The verses before talk about how we stir up love and good works in each other. The encouragement and energy we get from each other is so valuable to us persevering in our walk with God.
He also seems to imply that it is even more important the closer we get to the end. The bottom line is that we need each other as we go through this life. We all will need someone to lean on at some time. We will all need to be lifted up and encouraged at some point in our lives. We all need a church family to be connected to.
Offer yourself to God this week. Just tell Him, “Here am I. Send me.” It is really that simple. We just simply need to make ourselves available to God. We need to put ourselves at His disposal and allow Him to use us to reach whomever He wishes in any way He wishes.
Pray for the Lost.
Pray for your One.
Pray for our Church.
Here am I. Send me.
Read Colossians 2:6-10 to prepare for Sunday.
Love you all
Blessings
