BK’S KORNER

I was watching a movie called Walk Ahead Woman. The movie is about Geronimo. It is about the lady who came to paint him. Anyhow there was a scene in the movie which was very insightful. 

Geronimo’s warrior days were long over. They were talking about New York. Geronimo had been to New York. Geronimo said that New York was full of people who had a lot and people who had nothing. He said that, “… your culture values people who have a lot, mine by how much a person gives away.” 

Reminds me Acts 4:34-36 where everyone was bringing their money to the disciples, so that way everyone could be taken care of. They had a culture where everyone would be judged by how much they gave away. The closer they got to God the more generous they were. They wanted their poorer members to be taken care of. 

The closer we get to God the more generous we will become.
