ABBA, FATHER! ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE FOR YOU
ABBA, FATHER! ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE FOR YOU
Recently, I heard a testimony from someone whose family member had gone missing during a war many years ago. Christmas was coming up and the family was gathering. Heavy on their hearts and minds was the missing soldier. His mother prayed the prayer and said the words, “Lord I don’t know where my son is, but you do”. That same day the soldier and several others escaped from their captivity and eventually came home to his family.
One of the Scriptures from our Sunday school lesson this past Sunday was Mark 14: 35-36, “…Abba Father! All things are possible for You . . .”
Just like some of you, I have prayers and concerns on my heart that never go away. There hasn’t been a quick answer. These things, sometimes, go on for years. I have awakened in the middle of the night with fear just pressing on me and call out to God begging Him to please take care of my loved ones in this situation.
The Lord says in Proverbs 15:3 “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.”
I have seen the Lord’s power and how He has worked other things out in my life. I know that He will work in this situation. My concern is when! And that is what I need to learn not to concern myself with. Easier said than done, right?
2 Peter 3:8 “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.”
Psalm 31:15 “My times are in thy hand; deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
I’m learning to pray these Scriptures over my loved ones when I lose my patience and my faith grows weak.
And when it seems that the troubles are mounting, I read in Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too difficult for Me?”
I am encouraged when I hear a testimony like the above-mentioned one about the soldier. I am encouraged when I do see the little “God winks” that seem to be relieving some of the strong-holds that are waging war against my loved ones.
And I remember Romas 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”
For His Glory,
Debbie
