BE HUMBLE AND GENTLE

BE HUMBLE AND GENTLE…………
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love”.  This is a verse that was shared with me recently.  I always love when a brother or sister in Christ shares scriptures with me.  God is speaking to me through them.

There are so many things in life that God uses to make us become the person He needs for us to be for His use in His Kingdom work.  There are many good things that we’ve enjoyed in our lives, but it seems the growing happens when the suffering happens.

I have actually thought about this a lot lately.  I’ve thought back on the joys of my life.  My children being born, my grandchildren being born.  The unconditional love of my family and close friends.

Then my mind goes to the “hard stuff”.  I realized, that sometimes, the blessings that bring us so much joy, ends up being the same that brings us the pain.  We hurt when we lose our loved ones, either through death or just being separated from them.  We hurt when we watch the ones we love suffer.  I know each one of us has our own pain and sorrow in our lives.

I am led to Romans 5:3-5  “…….we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us”

Comfort for me comes through the word of God.  When you think you can’t bear another minute of the pain, you can’t spend another sleepless night worrying about the things you can’t control, God always has a word for us in scripture.

Psalms 30:5b “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”.

I have been sharing a verse or chorus from some of the songs we are preparing for our singing in July.

“Many times Satan whispered, there is no use to try
For there’s no end of sorrow, there’s no hope by and by
But I know You are with me, and tomorrow I’ll rise
Where the storms never darken the skies”.

I love what our Pastor said recently in one of his sermons.  He said that when we receive eternal life, it starts the minute you receive Christ.  It’s not something we are waiting for later, but as we live our life out on God’s earth.  There are so many joys he gives us.  Praise be to God.

God is good, all the time.

And it’s all
For His glory,
Debbie
