BECAUSE OF THE LORD’S GREAT . . . LOVE .LAMENTATION 3
“We are not consumed
For His compassions never fail
They are new every morning
Great is Your faithfulness”. Vs 22-23
It is so good to be in the house of the Lord at FBCBC every time the doors are open. The Word of the Lord always goes forth whether it be in Sunday School or from the pulpit.
There are days that I truly have to talk myself into getting out of bed. I know none of us like to talk about our troubles or our issues. I think we decide that we may be judged by others if they know the problems and issues we have. We all have them. But, God . . .
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him…” v.25
You know what gets me out of the bed, hope. That hope in the Lord we read about in the scriptures and that we hear from our sermons.
The Lord reminded me recently of a quote I saw somewhere a while back. “I remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.”
I remember years ago when my children were very young, I had a cancer diagnosis. I remember I called all the believers I knew to pray for me. I had Pentecostals praying the healing to rain down on me and I had Catholics lighting candles and praying for me and many others. My prayer was that I would live to see my children grow up. I was healed and I lived to see my children grow up and have children of their own.
Now, sometimes those problems and issues and worries I have come through those children and grandchildren that I prayed for. But, I always remember the prayers that have brought me where I am and the way God has sustained me. So I still pray and have faith in Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
So, for the most part we are silent about our troubles and problems and worries and there is nothing wrong with that. The scripture says in vs. 26 of Lamentations 3 “it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” So we wait and we hope.
I am so thankful for the Word of God, for the Scriptures that speak to our hearts and give us comfort and hope. I am also so thankful that God sustained my life, because my children and grandchildren have and still do bring me much joy in my life.
I remain in hope for His Glory, Debbie
