ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER
ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER . . .
I know I fail at this many times, encouraging others. I saw a great example of encouraging each other this past weekend when I accompanied my son to a venue out of town to perform in a country music show.
This was not a competition. It was a show of talent. It was a show to entertain the audience. They did just that.
Back stage while each performer waited to go on, there was encouragement abounding. They complemented each other on their performance. They lifted each other up.
I saw another great example of encouragement posted on social media. My grandsons are in many competitions playing piano. Recently my son-in-law posted a particular competition where the boys competed against each other. He praised and encouraged the one who scored higher, but stated the other brother couldn’t be prouder for him. He said they, as parents, don’t make a big deal about competitions. It is about daily excellence in whatever they do, in this case, it is music.
I Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up……
Hebrews 3:13 “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today”……..
These examples happen to be about music, but these scriptures refer to any talent or good work anyone has or does. I’ve said before that our church is made up of so many talented people. Many talents that I don’t have. When our church plans an activity there are many gifted people who help. We are to encourage each other in whatever gift God has given to use for His glory. Compliments them on the work they’ve done. Let them know that they are special in what they do because not everyone can do what they do.
It is sad that sometimes we will spend our time complaining, instead of looking at the good and referring to it.
Lord help me be an encourager!!
For His Glory, Debbie
