YOUTH MINISTER UPDATE

In Acts 1:11, the angels ask the disciples a pointed question: “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven?” Jesus had just ascended, and while it would have been easy to remain there in awe, they were being reminded of something critical—there was still work to do. Christ would return, but until that day, His followers were called to be about His mission.

That same truth applies to us. It can be easy to become passive in our faith—waiting, watching, or simply going through the motions—but we have been given both the time and the opportunity to actively live on mission. Every day presents moments to reflect Christ, to speak truth, and to engage with people who need the hope of the Gospel. The question is not whether the mission exists, but whether we are stepping into it.

We may not always have organized events or perfectly planned opportunities, but our calling does not depend on a schedule. It is found in our daily obedience—how we love others, how we serve, and how we make Christ known in the ordinary rhythms of life. Like the disciples, we cannot afford to stand still when there is a world in need of the message we carry.

As we look ahead, don’t forget about Purpose Week Camp coming June 22–26. This is a key opportunity for students to step away from distractions and grow deeper in their faith while being challenged to live on mission. The cost is $220, and the registration deadline is May 24. Make plans now to be part of what God is going to do during that week.

Let’s be people who don’t just look on—but who step forward, making the most of every opportunity God places in front of us.
