YOUTH MINISTER UPDATE

This past Sunday, Pastor Keith walked us through Paul’s encouragement to Timothy in 2 Timothy to “fan into flame” the gift of God within him. It’s a powerful image—faith is not meant to sit dormant or slowly fade; it’s meant to be stirred, strengthened, and actively lived out. Paul’s words remind us that the life we’ve been given in Christ requires intentionality. We don’t drift into a vibrant faith—we pursue it.

One of the clearest ways we fan that flame is by stepping beyond the walls of the church and living on mission. Faith grows when it is exercised. As we share the Gospel, serve others, and engage with people who don’t yet know Christ, our dependence on Him deepens and our confidence in Him grows. It’s easy to keep faith contained within familiar spaces, but we are called to carry it into our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Let this be a week where we don’t just hold onto our faith, but actively fuel it—through time in the Word, through prayer, and through boldness in how we live and speak. The flame grows when it’s given oxygen, and God often uses our obedience outside the church to do just that.

As always, we have some important opportunities coming up:
Purpose Week Camp is right around the corner, happening June 22–26. This is one of the most impactful weeks of the year, and we want every student there. Be sure to get signed up and make plans to attend.

We have a dessert auction fundraiser coming up to help students get to camp. This is going to be a fun event and a great way for our church family to support what God is doing in the lives of our students.

Finally, we're also looking ahead to a service week at the Dream Center in Beaumont. This will be a great chance to put our faith into action by serving others and meeting real needs in our community. More details will be coming soon.

Let’s be people who are actively fanning the flame—growing in our faith and carrying it wherever God sends us.

In Christ,
