BK’S KORNER
In my last article I told you of my plans to allow my dog to sleep in the house this week while it was cold.  Just as a way of reminder this was completely new for Deets. He is 6 years old and has lived in my shop and backyard for the entire time.  Since he was 8 weeks old. He has ridden out hurricane Laura and the big freeze we had a couple of years ago out there so everything we did was out of his element.  Just thought I would share some things I learned from allowing Ol’ Deets in the house this week.

One. I think my dog has insomnia. The first night he stayed in, we woke to him having all kinds of things surrounding where he slept.  I guess he went and got stuff and brought it to his bed.  We also found some K-cups for our Keurig stashed in another room.  We have a box of them on the floor in the pantry.  Guess he just decided he would go stash some for later.

Two. He makes more noise than I do.  I used to think I was noisy in the morning with all my coughing, snorting, hacking and groaning when I woke up. When that dog “grooms” himself he makes all kinds of irritating noises.

Trying to eat a snack with a dog in the house is completely aggravating. He has never even had human food!

Dogs have a distinctive smell.

He seems to be very loyal to Cheryl and me.  I couldn’t even roll over in bed without him coming over and sticking his nose on me to make sure I was ok. He follows us everywhere. He growls at everyone else.

He has a personality. Seriously. Unfairly, I don’t spend enough time with him to know. However, he’s got some personality.  He has this sort of wild eye look.  He looks like he’s smiling at you but is thinking about tearing your face off.

Ultimately, he’s a good dog. Will I allow him to continue coming inside to sleep at night? I doubt it. I like knowing he’s out there, but I don’t really want him inside disrupting my life.  I wonder if we treat God like I treat my dog. It’s not that we don’t want God, we just want Him to stay out in the shop. We like seeing Him working around us, but just stay in the back yard and I can see you from the driveway or out the window. We are even willing to do a little something. I will go feed my dog every day, but I don’t want him to become a burden to me.

Just a thought.
No more Excuses.
Let us move forward.
Pray for the lost.
Pray for your One.

Blessings to you all
