BK’S KORNER
There is a verse in Philippians that I have been praying a lot lately. That verse is Philippians 2:13. It says, “… for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” What that verse says is that God puts it into our hearts to do what He desires us to do and He puts into our hearts even to want to do what He wants us to do.

I have been asking God to put it into our hearts that we would desire to do His work. That we would desire Him. That we would desire His word.  In other words, I have been asking God to give us the “want to” in our walk with Him.

As we desire Him and seek to walk more closely with Him, then we will begin to experience and see Him at work in our lives and our Church. I know that we desire to see God work in our families and our community. Only He can do the spiritual work that needs to be done. Therefore we pray and ask Him to do His work.

Trunk or Treat, Life Chain, Baby Dedication, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Crusade, Taste of Christmas, Christmas Eve service and our Christmas morning Family Gathering. These are things that will be coming in the next eight to ten weeks. I know you will want to be involved as much as possible.

I know that many of our departments are finishing up their fellowships with the other departments.  First, I want to thank you all for participating in this.  I hope it has helped to get to know others and to be more comfortable around them.  I hope you participated with your Sunday School department. I have had many personal responses over the last year about these fellowships.  Many people found them helpful and beneficial. We have been able to get to know people we did not know. We have been able to spend time with people we do not normally spend time with. We got to laugh with each other and learn about each other. Not to mention the great food that we have consumed!

Let us finish the year strong in our service to the Lord.  Then we will allow it to carry over into the beginning of next year. Let us “Continue earnestly in prayer, being diligent in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 4:2.

Pray for your One
Glorify, Go, Grow
