BK’S KORNER
First I really want to thank everyone for making our third Pumpkin Patch a huge success.  Today is the last day.  As of this morning we have sold over $27,000 worth of Pumpkins.  Thirty percent of that is ours plus 100% of all the donations. When it is all said and done we will likely have raised over $10,000 to spend on missions.  This will ensure that whatever we desire to do for missions over the next year will not be hindered by a lack of money.  So, thank God and let us now be good stewards of this blessing.

This morning I put on my “work hat” to come to the office.  I am anticipating having to work a little as we will be setting up for our Fall Festival. I didn’t want to sweat and work in one of my newer hats.  There’s something about an old broken in work hat.  It just feels comfortable. Its soft and fits perfectly on your head.  Of course, the reason is because it is well worn.  It has been worn a lot in a lot of different situations. At one time it was a new hat.  Stiff and hard and tight on my head. Now, after use, it is soft and fits perfectly.

I have been thinking a lot lately about corporate prayer.  What I mean by that is us praying together as a church body. I have not been good at leading us to do that. Corporate prayer is tough.  It often feels forced and not so comfortable.  People are intimidated by it. There is not great participation.  I felt like God showed me this morning that prayer is like a hat.  In the beginning it may feel stiff and a little uncomfortable.  It becomes soft and comfortable through use.  By making sure that we pray together, over time it will become more natural and comfortable for us.  It is something I must lead out in. Please pray for me along those lines.

Please use this fall season of the year to pray for your church staff. Pray for our walk with the Lord.  Pray for our vision to lead The First Baptist Church to follow Christ. I have a lot of different things rolling around in my mind for the new year. I just need God to put it all together the way He wants it done.

I hope you all have a wonderful fall season. Move into the holiday season remembering that the reason we can celebrate is because of Him!

God glorify Your Name in our church and in our community.
Love and Blessings
