BK’S KORNER
It is Monday morning. I have just returned to the office. I went this morning to the crematorium to be with a family who is saying their last goodbye to a 15 month old child. It is heartbreaking. It is in moments just like that where I feel the most needed. The irony is that in those moments where I feel the most needed, I also feel the most inadequate. There really are no words for that family. There is no explanation. There are only hugs and prayers. I prayed hard for God’s grace and mercy to be upon that family.
I know this is selfish, but it is one of the reasons to pray for our church body and your Ministerial Staff. We often find ourselves in situations where we are in desperate need of the guidance and wisdom of God’s Holy Spirit. Please pray for us.
We are now officially in the Holiday Season. This time of year will go by like a wind and then we will be in a new year. I am looking forward to the new year with a lot of anticipation. Anticipation about what God is going to do. I think God is up to something here in The First Baptist Church. I am excited to see what it is.
I hope that you are enjoying the messages from the last few chapters of the Gospel of John as much as I am enjoying preaching them. Remember, the reason I feel that these messages are so significant is because this is in the last week of Jesus’ life. Everything He is saying and doing here I believe is deliberate. He is driving home those final lessons that He wants His disciples to take to heart.
If you picked up an Angel from the Angel Tree, please return your gifts with the Angel Tag attached by December 4. I cannot thank you all enough for your willing generosity. May God richly bless you all.
Enjoy your Holidays. I know I will
Blessings
