BK’S KORNER
Merry Christmas. I truly hope this season can be joyous for all of us. Joyous because of what God has done in sending Jesus to this earth. Joyous for the gift of Life. Joyous because of our anticipation of His plans for our future. That is why we can find joy during this season. Not because of family gatherings or gifts, but because of the Christ Child who we celebrate. The truth that God became a man so that He could redeem mankind. That is the reason to be joyous.
I hope that you will not take a break from Church attendance beginning in January. I am going to begin to lay out for us the direction that we will be heading as a church. There will be specific plans that will begin to unfold. By the end of January my wish is that every member of FBC will be able to tell anyone who we are, what we are about and where we are going! You definitely don’t want to miss it!
I also hope that you will make an intentional decision to be involved in our church in 2023. Use this church as an outlet for you to serve. We often lament the fact that the community or society doesn’t respect the church like it used to. The fact is, the people in the church don’t hold the church in the regard that people used to. If you think that Church should be important to society …. Then it should be a priority for you especially!
Please be sure to prayerfully consider giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. 100% of that offering goes directly into the field to/for missionaries who are serving. If I am not mistaken, 50% of the money that the Foreign Mission Board brings in comes from this offering. That makes this offering important. Not everyone is called to go overseas but everyone should be willing to support those that do go.
Please continue to support FBC financially. Especially as we move into a new year. I know that inflation is high. I know that basic things like utilities, food, insurance, taxes etc have all increased dramatically. They have for the church as well. When we hit a spot like this in economic conditions, one of the first places where people reduce their spending is in what they give to the church. I actually believe that God will bless you if you continue to provide for His ministry during difficult times. God will see us all through. In the area of giving is the one place where God tells us to test Him. Put Him to the test and see if His promise is true. Malachi 3:10.
God Bless you all. Merry Christmas
