BK’S KORNER
This Christmas season I have been considering Mary, Jesus’ mother. I have been considering everything she must have thought and felt.  What she understood and what she just simply took by faith. There is a song called “Mary Did You Know.” Most of you have probably heard this song.  If not, I suggest you give it a listen.  There is one verse in the song that kind of gives me chills.  The verse goes like this,

Did you know your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby you kiss the face of God.

To me that is so powerful.  That little innocent, helpless baby had come from heaven. He had possessed all the glory that goes with being the creator of the universe. Now, here He was being held by a young mother in a stable.  When she kissed Him, she was literally kissing God!!  Can you Imagine? You see, I think Mary knew who He was.  I mean of course the Angel told her, but she also knew she had never been with a man.  She knew that the conception was a miracle.  She knew, at least in a most basic way that this was God!  That seriously just blows my mind, that God became a human.  In the beginning He was a baby. That is a true mystery, that God became a man.  He set aside the glory and humbled Himself.  He became obedient even to the point of dying on the cross.  He did all this so that you and I can have a relationship with Him now and forever. Because of Him and what He did we can experience that true and abundant life that we talked about yesterday. That deserves a Merry Christmas!

I know that Christmas can actually be a sad time for some people.  They may be missing a family member.  When everyone else is gathering and sharing pictures of their family they are reminded that they are missing someone.  The only way to begin to overcome this is to focus our hearts on the true meaning of Christmas.  It really isn’t vacation, family, gifts, food or a holiday.  It is about God coming in the flesh and living among mankind so that He might redeem us from sin and its power.

Focus on that this Christmas season.

May God make His face to shine upon you all. May He give you a true Merry Christmas season!
Love y’all
