BK’S KORNER
There is always a little bit of a “buzz” after we have had a wonderful day in worship on Sunday. Yesterday and this morning I have already had many people mention how wonderful the service was. Truly it was a great day of gathering yesterday. As the song says, surely the presence of Lord was in the place. The house was full. We saw exuberance over baptism and the singing is still echoing in my ears. Yes indeed, it was good to be in the house of the Lord yesterday.
Stay with me as I move to another level with this article. Every day is a good day to be in the house of the Lord. In fact, God Himself should be our spiritual house. Psalm 90 is attributed to Moses and in the very first verse he writes, “Lord, You have been our dwelling place…” In our vernacular he is saying that God is where we live. God is our home. God desires that we make Him our dwelling place. Make Him our home.
We must stop thinking that God is on Jupiter while we are on Earth. With the Holy Spirit, God is now right here. He is in us, and we are in Him. He is where we live.
Home is where we are secure. Home is where we feel safe. Home is where we have peace. Home is where we can relax. Home is where we find acceptance. God is our home. He is the source of all these things. In other places in the Psalms it says that God is our refuge. Our home is our refuge. God is our home. Whenever we have had one of those days where everything went haywire, we need to go home and put it all behind us. God is that home.
We need to stop using God as a vacation home or a weekend getaway. He needs to be the place where we live. Every day we need to find ourselves in Him.
In John 14:23, Jesus says that if we love Him and keep His words, then God will love us also and He will come to us and be our home. God and Christ, our home. Our place for growth and guidance. Our comfort zone. God wants to be the One in whom we live and move have our being according to Acts 17:28.
Make God your home. You won’t regret it. You will find peace.
Pray for the Lost.
Pray for your One.
Thank God for the Baptisms yesterday.
Love and Blessings to all of you.
