BK’S KORNER
I do not know why, but this year is racing past me. I keep saying that events are sneaking up on me. There are things I planned to do early this year and here it is March, and I haven’t started. This year has just run me over and passed me up. I will likely not catch up the rest of the year.
This reminds me of two verses in the Bible. First is James 4:14. “…. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” Second is two verses. Ephesians 5:16 and Colossians 4:5. Both verses admonish us to “redeem the time.” In other words, to make the most of our opportunities.
The verse in James reminds us that life is short. Life goes by quickly. We may have so many plans, but we wake up one day and realize the opportunities have passed. Therefore, the verses in Ephesians and Colossians remind us to make the most of the time we have. We must decide what is really important and give it the focus and attention of our time that it deserves. We wake up one day and our kids are grown and gone. Did we lay the spiritual foundation in their lives that will be needed to face the difficulties of life? Have we prioritized laying the spiritual foundation of our own lives so that we can find peace during the uncertain times? Did we prioritize prayer and our relationship with God so that we could influence those around us for Christ? What have we prioritized? What are we prioritizing? Life is short. Make the most of every opportunity.
The Youth Bake Auction last night was a blast. It is always so much fun. Thanks to all of you who baked, bought, and gave to support the youth ministry at The First Baptist Church. Please be praying for Cody, the youth and all of their upcoming events.
March is our Church’s month to help at the Ministerial Alliance. If you would like you may go over there any Monday or Wednesday from 9-noon and help. If you have no idea what they do, you might find it very enlightening.
Please prayerfully consider how you might help us out with the Easter Egg-stravaganza and Vacation Bible School. More information on the sign-up sheets by the water fountains behind the sanctuary.
Continue to pray for people to respond to the Gospel.
Pray for baptisms.
Pray for your One.
Blessings and love for you all
