BK’S KORNER
Tax Day. Yuck! Today is a day dreaded by many people in our country.  Today is not only the day that your annual Federal Taxes are due, it is also the day that quarterly estimated tax payments are due for those who pay their taxes quarterly. I am one of them.  As a result of my employment status as “clergy” I pay my own taxes quarterly.  It’s so hard to see my savings account get depleted 4 times a year. 

Many times through the years I have quoted to myself Matthew 22:21 where Jesus said, “… Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” This verse also reminds me about giving to the Lord.  Jesus said to make sure that you also give to God what is His. Just like I would never not pay my taxes, I would also never not tithe. Malachi 3:8 reminds me that the tithe belongs to God.  Giving to God is just as important (more important really) than giving to my government.

I want to give one final call for our Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.  This is our mission offering for North America. We are almost at our goal of $5,000.00. Just a little more will put us over the top.  If you have not yet given, please seek the Lord to see if He would desire for you to give toward that mission endeavor. 

People from all over the world. People of all cultures. People that speak many languages all live in North America.  Mission efforts here are well worth our support. The timing is urgent in my opinion to make sure that all hear and have a chance to respond to the gospel.

Continue to pray for our church and community. Pray that God would draw those in our community to Himself.  Pray that He would prepare us to share the gospel so that they can be saved. God must do the work so we must pray. If you have a “One” who you are praying for then, recommit to praying that person(s). If you do not have a “One” then ask God to lay someone on your heart to pray for. Let’s just pray our families, friends and community into the Kingdom. 

Pray.
Be Strengthened.
Be indwelt.
Take hold of God’s love.
