BK’S KORNER
I wonder what God wants to do in our church? Some of you hear me say that every now and then. Actually it is a serious question. I often ask this of myself and others. I sincerely have an expectation that God is about to do something big in our community and our church will get to be a part of it. There have been several Sundays recently where I felt as though we were on the verge of God breaking through in us. It is going to happen. Just wait and watch!
As of now, my plan is to have a pretty active summer here in our church. You will want to be involved. I hope to give attention to several different areas that contribute to the health of our church. Specifically, teaching of the Word, Worship, prayer, fellowship, and ministry. I think these are areas that will determine whether or not a church is healthy.
Do you sense that God is at work somewhere? Do you sense that He is showing you something in regard to our church? Do you see Him working somewhere? Is there something burning in your heart? Be sure to let us know whenever you sense something. Don’t worry if it is from God or not. If you see it, sense it or feel it then we need to check it out. If you have no idea what this paragraph is about then you need to do the Experiencing God study!
Speaking of which, Next Sunday will be our last Experiencing God group session. So this week you should be finishing the workbook. We will gather for one last session. I hope that you have learned and been challenged to know when and how God is speaking to you and our church. I also hope that you have started a habit of setting aside time for God each day.
We will be going next Tuesday to work in the soup kitchen in Orange. If you want to go and haven’t already, then please let me know. I plan to take the van or you can meet us there. Whichever is best for you.
The tomb was empty! Our salvation is sure and complete. Death has no sting. We are victorious. “Therefore,… be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1Corinthians 15:58
Blessing to you all
Get out there and Faith this Week
