BK’S KORNER
When I was in my teens, all the guys loved to race their cars.  I’ve had my memory jogged lately about this part of my teen years. My High School was in a small town and we were just a bunch of country boys but we loved to see who had the fastest car.  We had a ¼ mile section on a country road outside of town that we called “The Quarter”. Whenever we wanted to race, we all headed out to The Quarter to either watch or race.  It seemed it was always a kid with a pick-up truck powered by a 450 engine and a 4 bbl carburetor that wanted to race a Camaro.  Those were the popular vehicles among the boys at my high school. Young men back then loved fast cars and racing. It just seemed to be in their DNA.

Yesterday in my sermon I talked about how when we are in Christ we are new creations.  We become different.  It is like our spiritual DNA is changed.  We begin to have different desires. We come alive spiritually and we begin to have spiritual desires.  We may find that we suddenly have a desire to read, know, and understand God’s Word. We may have an overwhelming desire to see our family and friends experience the same peace that we have found. Some people develop a love for other countries and want to see them come to know Christ. Some people desire to pray and be close to the Lord. People develop a godly compassion and a desire to minister to others. Some to the unborn. Some to children. Some to teens. Others to the sick. Some to prisoners.

I think you get the idea. When people meet Christ they change. They change on the inside. They become new creations. They are born again.

I also talked about how God sometimes starts over in our lives. I wonder what kind of new start may be happening in our church? I wonder if there are places where we have been unresponsive to God.  Might God need to rework the clay so that He can make us into who He is desiring us to be? I don’t know. I will say that as long as we stay in the hands of The Potter, He will mold us into the vessel that He intends us to be.

Sunday night in our prayer meeting I gave a very simple and short outline to how to find someone to pray for and to minister the Name of Christ to.  I hope you have a One and that you are continually praying for them and our community.

Pray for the Lost.
Pray for our church.
Come up on Mt Ararat.
Who’s Your One?
Blessings to all of you
