I am getting geared up for the summer. I am going to take a vacation and when I return, I will hit the ground running. When a church grows things change. Adjustments are made and more activities present themselves and require your attention or involvement.

I want to tell you about one of those changes that is coming. We are starting a new Sunday School class. Many of our Adult Sunday School classes are at their maximum capacity. Therefore, we need a new one. Adult 4-5 is really leading the way on this. Joey Hargrave will be the teacher of this new class. The class will start the first Sunday in August. As you know, we have never been sticklers for what class anyone attends and yet the first question I will get about this new class is “who is it for”.  So, in one way, it is for anyone.  More specifically to your question, I see it as a medium adult class. Age in the 40’s and 50’s range. 

Here are some ways you can help. You can pray that this class will reach new people and they will grow in the Lord.
We need 3-4 couples who will join this class so that there will be people in the class should newcomers come.  There are some from the Adult 4-5 who will go into this class but anyone else who would like to help this class kick off is also welcome to attend. Finally, if you do not attend a Sunday School class but have wanted to get started, this will be an excellent time to begin attending.

There will be 2 camps for our students this summer.  Cody will be taking the 7-12 graders to Youth Camp in Palacios Texas. We also be taking 3-6 graders to Pre-Teen camp.  We are accepting scholarships for this camp.  If you would like to help send a preteen to camp you may give your donation to Pat in the church office. 

Hope you had a great weekend. I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy family and friends. I hope you remembered why we celebrated Memorial Day. I hope you remembered that Christ died for our spiritual freedom.
