BK's Korner, 6/5/2023

BK’S KORNER

It is officially June.  We are all squeezing in our vacations and family time. We will do VBS and any other Church activities then it’s back to school, pumpkins arriving, then the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays!  That’s right. I said it.  I can’t believe I did, but I did.

Where does the time go?  In all seriousness it does not seem like there is enough time to do the things we want to do.  The Bible says as much.  James 4:14 says that our lives are like a “vapor that appears for a little time” and is then gone.  There are so many things we intend to do but for some reason never get to it. We wake up one day and most of our lives are behind us and so are many of our good intentions.

So what do we do? Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”  Numbering our days means that we need to always remember how short our time is.  We need to be aware that time is going to fly by.  By staying aware we can then wisely prioritize our lives.  We can make sure that we do those things are most important to us. Relationships with your loved ones can be built and strengthened. Serving the Lord will not be neglected. Your relationship with God will get attention.

So everyday remind yourself how short your life is. Remind yourself how quickly your children and grandchildren are growing into young adults. Remember that you only have one life in which to make a difference in someone else’s life for Christ.  You don’t want to miss that chance, especially in those you love.

In short, as The Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:17, be very careful to make sure you live your life wisely.  Make sure that you take advantage of the time that you do have.  Put the time that you have to its best use.

Who’s Your One?  Continue to pray and ask God to open the door of opportunity for you to minister to  them, invite them to church and/or share the gospel with them.

By the way.  It is that time of year again …. The Pumpkins are Coming! I know you’re ready.  Be sure to volunteer to help with VBS. You are needed!  Everyone is needed. Be sure to pray for VBS. Start Now.

Blessings to you all.

Glorify – Go – Gather.
