Back in the saddle!  At least I hope I am. I know I’ve been out of touch for a couple of weeks.  Thank you all so much for being patient with me. Cheryl is recovering nicely.  She is already getting restless and bored so that is a good sign. I want to go ahead and thank you all who have already provided meals for us and for those who are going to. It has been a tremendous blessing and delicious!  I may gain as much weight as I gained on the cruise!

We will be participating the Ministerial Alliance’s “Christmas in July Toy Drive.” We will be collecting new toys for the Ministerial Alliance to give away at Christmas.  There is a list of toys that you can buy, but seriously you do not have to buy a toy that is on that list.  You can buy anything you think a child would like to have. You may bring the toys to the church office, you can put them under the tree in the sanctuary, or just put them on one of the tables at any exit from the Sanctuary. We will pick them up and store them until time to turn them in. 

On that same note.  If anyone would like to lead our church in the Ministries that relate to the Ministerial Alliance, then please let me know.  What is required?  There are 2 main ministries you will head up. One is the Christmas in July Toy Drive. You will just make sure I don’t let it slip by me. Make sure it gets advertised. At Christmas time you will make sure the toys get to the alliance at the proper time.  The other thing you will head up is the Angel Tree at Christmas.  This does require a little work keeping track of the kids and who takes each angel. Keeping everything sorted for each angel. It isn’t difficult but it will take a small amount of time. You will get clear instructions on how to do it.  I will always be available to help.  You may attend the Alliance meetings each month if you desire. It isn’t necessary as I try to attend most.  We also host the Alliance meeting here at our church once a year. Usually, March is our month.  For this meeting you will arrange a meal for about 15 people. If you would be interested in taking this responsibility, please let me know! 

Summer really gets into full swing now. VBS next week.  Night of Worship and a concert in August. Breakfast of Champions and then … you know … The Pumpkins are Coming! Also looking to try and arrange another special event for some time in September or early fall.

Hope everyone is staying out of the heat.  Having a good summer. Please continue to pray for our church.  Pray that God would use our ministries to lead people to Him. Pray for our community. Pray for our Nation.
