BK’S KORNER
How is your lawn looking? It has been so dry. I mowed my grass over the weekend. My yard is like two different yards. Part of my yard tends to hold water. It will be soft and moist when the other part isn’t. It needed to be mowed. It was green, tall and thick. Another part of my yard tends to dry out rapidly. As I mowed, I noticed that this part of lawn was already dead. It was brown and dry.
The Lord brought to my mind Psalm 1. This Psalm talks about the person who finds delight in God’s Word. This is a person who cherishes the Word of God. One who reads it, meditates on it and tries to apply its principles to their life. The Psalm says that this person will be like a tree that is planted by a river or a channel of water. There is constant nourishment for that tree. Therefore, it will grow strong and healthy. Its leaves will be lush and green. This tree will bear the fruit that it is intended to bear.
Water is nourishment to plants. Without water they dry up and die. With water they are healthy and can grow. Just like the part of my yard that stays wet and grows, my spiritual life is the same. When I value God’s Word and incorporate it into my life then I grow spiritually. I am like that tree on a river bank. I am spiritually healthy, strong, and fruit bearing. The word of God is to our spiritual lives what water is to our yard. Be healthy. Get plenty of water.
Just by way of a few reminders. The Music Ministry of FBC will be hosting The Hoppers in concert August 19 at 6 pm. If you like gospel music, then you will definitely want to attend. If you attended the Night of Worship last night, I’m sure you were inspired and enjoyed the worship tremendously.
Make sure you email a photo of your family to Ms. Pat for our Church Directory. Please do this by the end of August.
Be in prayer for Breakfast of Champions on August 25.
Thank you to all who brought toys for the Christmas in July Toy Drive sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance. These toys will be a blessing to families in our community at Christmas.
Continue to pray for our community and our Church. Pray for your “One.” Ask God to use the ministry of this church to reach people with the Gospel.
Blessings to you all.
Glorify, Go, Gather, Grow.
