BK’S KORNER
Can you believe that today is already August 1? Summer is basically over. School is starting this week. Teachers start today and I believe the students go back later this week. It is time to hit the Fall season with full force.
In church life we are about to get busy. Pumpkins arrive in September. Pumpkin Patch in October. Fall Festival, Thanksgiving and then Christmas. That doesn’t even include all of our other activities like First Saturday, Soup Kitchen etc.
I hope that you are finding a place in the church body to serve. One of the best defenses against “the spirit of grumbling” which I preached about yesterday, is to be actively serving in the church. So find your spot!
I really feel like God is at work in our church and community. Let us continue to pray for both. We know that God desires for our community to know Him. May we never lose sight of that fact. May we never forget that is our focus and priority. May God fill us with the desire to see that happen. Pray and ask the Lord of the Harvest to send out workers into His field.
Also, do not forget to pray for the Hope Homeschool. They will begin this month as well. I believe that they are getting geared up for their largest number of students. Homeschooling will become more and more of a choice for parents in the coming years. Parents are going to begin to take control of the oversight of their kids education. So please be in prayer for this homeschool co-op that meets here on our campus.
Sunday night will be a prayer meeting. We will pray for our schools, teachers, administrators and students across our community. Please join us in this prayer time. I hope you have enjoyed the Summer Sundays at FBC. We’ve heard sermons, watched movies and had prayer. We have a few more scheduled through the month of August. Hope you will attend.
Everyone have a great week. See you Wednesday and Sunday. Grace and Peace to all of you.
