BK’S KORNER
Well, the pumpkins are unloaded.  They are in their new home here at the First Baptist Church Pumpkin Patch. Again, I want to extend a very sincere “Thank You” to everyone who showed up to help unload. This year there has been an unexpected blessing, our truck driver, Jonathan.  After church Sunday morning Jonathan came over to see me in the Pumpkin Patch.  He began to share some things with me.  This may not be word for word quotes of what he said, but this is certainly the meaning of what he shared.

He told me that it had truly been a blessing to him to be here around the people of First Baptist Church.  He said that only his wife knew how he had been blessed by being here.  He said that it did something for him to be here surrounded by God’s people. He then opened up and began to share with me about some struggles that his family has been having. He began to bear witness to how God has been working out the burdens on his life during the last two days.  He and his wife have gotten news over the last two days that was a tremendous blessing to them.

He equates God’s blessing upon him to being connected to us here at First Baptist Church. I am reminded of the life of Joseph in the Bible.  There were several times where other people like Pharaoh and his household were blessed only because Joseph was there.  The blessing of God was so strong upon Joseph that it spilled over on to those whom he was around.  Whenever I would teach or preach on Joseph, I would always say something to the effect of how great it would be to have the blessing of God so strong on our church that people who came into contact with us would experience that blessing. I think we are moving into that realm spiritually. It is very exciting.

It is wonderful to have this sense of anticipation about our church.  We can sense that God is here working among us.  We watch and look for Him to work around us. God is starting to move among our community and our church.  He is drawing people to Himself. Drawing them into a relationship with Himself. It is going to be amazing to watch and be a part of.

Thanks again to all who helped unload pumpkins.  We are scheduled to receive more on October 14 at 3 pm. We will get a quarter to a half a load.  Please sign up to work in the Patch. Hopefully the families of our community can find some fun times there.

Blessings to you all.
Pray and Pray some more.
Blessings
