Loving Judgment, Part I

Sunday, Pastor Doug began a two part sermon  into some of the controversial and challenging truths contained within Scripture by looking at 1 Corinthians 5:1-13. Paul is writing admonishing the Corinthians for their failure to properly contend with\ sexual immorality within the church. The Corinthians have proudly avoided dealing
with the sin in the name of tolerance and worldly wisdom. Paul declares, “Your boasting is not good.” He warns them “when you are gathered in the name of the Lord Jesus” you are obligated to contend with sin and judge it rightly. They have misapplied the principle of not “judging outsiders” to mean not to judge at all.
