The Gospel at Work
Sunday our series through Philippians, “The Joy of the Gospel”, focused on the text Phil. 1:19-30. Paul confesses to the church of Philippi his desire to be with Christ. However, he knows that the time for of his departure from earthly service is not now. There is much work to be done in propelling the Gospel forward and he wants to be a part of it. Paul acknowledges this requires more suffering, sacrifice, and struggle, but he is still committed. The Gospel was born out of the work of Christ on the cross and the Gospel reaching others will require the work of the redeemed. Work cannot be avoided without neglecting the Gospel. The work is a joy that God has invited us into so we may participate in the greatest endeavor in all of creation and that angels will sing of for eternity. We get the privilege of sharing Christ with others. Are you ready to work? Can you hear God calling you to an area of service?
